hurston Quarter Horses is a training facility that specializes in preparation of Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle and All-Around Horses as well as futurity prospects. We have numerous champions and top ten placings at the Congress and World Shows as well as other national events. We also place heavy emphasis on schooling amateur, youth and non-pro riders.

star Paul Thurston, graduate of the University of Findlay’s equine studies program and B.A. in marketing, is the head trainer of the operation. Paul has had 9 years experience working for various successful trainers in the horse business before opening TQH in the fall 1998. Tami Thurston, spouse and also a graduate of the U of F, is the director of Equine Technology at Martin Community College. Other employees include riding and general barn help.

star Situated on 50 beautiful acres, TQH has a 25 stall barn, covered riding pen, several outdoor riding arenas, hot walker, round pen, numerous turn out lots and a 9 acre pond. We also have 5 camper hook-ups for clients that travel great distance that would like to stay at the farm and ride a few days at a time. The farm is a lovely place for customers and their families to visit. Motels and bed/breakfasts are 4 short miles to Tarboro.
